This afternoon I crawled out of bed and like I always do (because I am a small child) I turned the computer on to check my stats from yesterday.

I like to look at myblog first because It gives an overview of traffic and clicks anyway upon logging into mybloglog I nearly wet my pants, last night this blog and SEO Friendly web directory (both of which are now 3 days old) received over 1000 visitors:-)

How did I get all these visitors?

Well 900 of came from stumbleupon the rest came from forums and directories.

How did I get 900 Stumblers???

I made a little post about my Nude Virgin Experiment and because I linked it to my other site I got a few hundred visits there as well.

The most visitors I have seen from stumbleupon in a day before is 400, so you want to know what I did different this time don’t ya? You want to know how to get traffic from stumble upon.

Well I think theres a few factors to my massive Stumble upon traffic.

The main one probably was the fact there were nude virgins in the title, second the server didn’t crash - I don’t know if its because wordpress is a better platform than drupal or this site is lighter with many less pages than my other one but my other site would have died after about 300 Visitors.

Anyway stumblers usually use digg, reddit and other social bookmarking sites. So I’ve decided to see if I can get even more visitors with the sociable plugin.

On Sunday I did a little experiment with nude virgin’s and the results have been quite surprising, what did I do?

I found an article on digg which was very funny about some nude virgins that set a house on fire so I made a little post on financial independence about the nude virgins and I have been getting traffic ever since for the below keywords.

I am in 4th place on Google for the term nude virgins just behind Metro and Digg, I wouldn’t say the traffic’s been tremendous but its an interesting little bonus. Problem is google doesn’t show any ads on those pages so no cash for the stubsy.

This sort of thing is called search baiting and can be done by putting pictures of celebrities etc. On your website when their announced to be pregnant or drug addicts.

Thats the nude virgin experiment anyway, have you ever done anything similar?
